You do not need to be Scottish to reap the enjoyment and benefits of Highland Dancing! Highland dancing is an aerobic sport which builds poise, balance and has a positive impact on building self confidence. In addition, the friendships built and acquaintances made while engaging in the Highland Dance community can easily last a lifetime. There are several certified teachers in the MSCDA. Between them, there are classes for the new beginner up through the Premier/Championship levels. There are even classes for adult beginners!

When evaluating a Highland Dance School, make sure the teachers are certified by one of the three teaching organizations; the Scottish Dance Teachers' Alliance (STDA), the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD) or the United Kingdom Alliance (UKA).
